Our office uses air abrasion in many dental procedures that we come across. It is a way to prepare teeth for dental work and it can help to treat and break away tooth decay. It has many different uses for us to use it for and depending on the type of situation our patients are experiencing. We can prepare teeth for different procedures and even remove old fillings and stains from the outside of the teeth. Using Air AbrasionAir abrasion is a new advancement in the dental field that is used to treat dental decay. It has been shown to provide a more positive outcome over the use of the dental drill in our office. There are streams of aluminum oxide, silica and baking soda that come out of the machine which helps to irrigate and clean the area as the tool is being used. Benefits of Air AbrasionThere are advantages that come from our office using air abrasion over other types of drilling that need to be done. These advantages include being able to keep most of the tooth matter intact, it is a quick, effective and safe procedure to go through, you can treat more than one tooth in one visit, you do not need to have anesthesia most of the time because it is less invasive and that there is no heat, no sound, no pressure or anything else that comes with a normal drill with an air abrasive. Talk with our office today to find out what types of drill our dentists use. We want to provide every patient that comes to see us with comfort and the best tools for the job. Talk with us today and we can schedule an appointment for you to come in and see our dentist for the work you need to have done. |
