E4D Crowns Statesville, NC
At Jon C. Packman DDS, we’re ready to give you a new, improved smile through our state-of-the-art procedure, E4D, in just one visit. Traditionally, you require several appointments as well as lab work to get dental crowns.
Our dental office has taken the time and effort of completing vital dental care with advanced technology. Our E4D system lets patients receive ceramic crowns for discolored or damaged teeth in one simple appointment. For more than three decades, E4D has provided great results for the creation of patients’ crowns, dental veneers, inlays, and onlays.
What Are E4D Crowns?
E4D uses advanced 3D printing, computer, and software technology to make superb crowns that not only feel like real teeth but also look completely natural.
Before E4D, it was quite complicated to get a crown. It involved several dental visits, and this drove the cost up. With our E4D crowns, you only need one appointment with us, and you’ll leave with brand new, natural-looking crowns.
E4D crowns are made from a superior material than regular crowns. They not only look more natural but also feel more natural, too. Also, the crowns are bonded to your teeth permanently, so they’ll remain in place even when you go to bed or eat certain foods.
The best news is that unlike traditional crowns, E4D crowns aren’t made from metal, which limits the crown’s transparency. Made entirely from 100% professional-grade porcelain, E4D crowns are an upgrade on traditional metal crowns.
The E4D crown procedure
We’ll clean and prep your tooth for a crown. Then we’ll remove any weak or decayed parts of the tooth. Next, we’ll reduce your tooth to make sure the crown fits over it completely and is aligned properly with your bite.
With a special handheld camera, your teeth are scanned and photographed. We save the digital image of your tooth and use it to make you a dental crown. Our doctor chooses a porcelain block that matches your natural teeth’s shade. He places the porcelain block in our E4D milling machine.
Using the digital image, the E4D machine crushes the block of porcelain to create your ceramic crown. This process takes just 20 minutes so that you can chill out during the short wait.
Our doctor will examine the crown to make sure it fits and bites properly. He’ll then polish the E4D crown and bond it to your tooth.
Advantages of E4D crowns
Comfort: As the crown is fitted on the same day your tooth is prepared, you don’t have to have a temporary crown in between visits. Temporary crowns may become loose and can irritate the tooth or gums.
Convenience: E4D crowns are placed in one visit, unlike regular crowns, which require a couple of visits. This allows us to create a personalized crown while you wait.
Composition: E4D crowns are made of quality ceramic and look natural. Unlike traditional metal crowns, you’ll never see a dark metal foundation line at your gumline.
